  • How can I run multiple xterm windows at start-up?

    Posted on

I added several xterm windows to run at the start-up. (I did that from System -> Preferences -> Startup Applications Preferences.) Then I made sure that the box named "Automatically remember running applications when logging out" is checked in the Options TAB.

I logged out and logged back in. To my surprise only one of the xterm windows was running (the last one). I went back to the app System -> Preferences -> Startup Applications Preferences. It displayed the lone xterm job which was running; but the others I had added were gone. They were no longer included in the list of start-up applications.

In the past, I was able to start multiple xterms as part of the start-up and save their desktop locations. So, how can I do the same and run multiple xterm windows at the start-up for RHEL 6.10?

    Thanks for your help.
