confused by package-handling of httpd vs httpd24

Hello

Target: Setting up an icinga-Server with icinga-web and director.
I am confused of the management of php-version in conjunction of httpd.
php5.4 support stopps at Oct 2016, but also it is the "actual package" for the "standard httpd-package".
Lack of this, I've installed php7.1 with the httpd24 package.
So far so good, but reaching the point to install graphite-web and mod_wsgi from epel-repository, this package want's the "standard httpd". Also, different configuration files are installed in other directories, packages, which I don't want to installed, are installed with this...

I am missing the following of the central theme...

Self compiling of mod-wsgi and so are unsuccessful, due I am no developer and so...

any hints?
