Upgrade from RedHat 5.8 to RedHat 6.9

Hello,

I am about to upgrade my RedHat 5.8 server to RedHat 6.9 and I am asking the community if there are any known problems with this upgrade that anyone may have encountered in the past. I am sure there are many companies that have done this in the past so any help and advise would be greatly appreciated.

What I intend to do is first upgrade the 5.8 to 5.11 version. This should be relatively easy.
However, my concern is with the upgrade to 6.9 from 5.11. I am asking if there are any known issues with doing this. I intend to boot to the cd and perform the upgrade this way.

So is there any known issues that I may encounter or is there a simpler way to do this that I am not aware of.
