  • Delay screen blanking on locked screen in RHEL 7.4 Client

    Posted on

When our users lock their screens , the screen does the following:

    1) User locks screen
    2) Screen is locked and immediately goes blank

What we would like to happen is:

    1) User locks screen
    2) Screen stays on for the time configured in the "org/gnome/desktop/session/idle-delay" gconf setting
    3) after this, the screen goes to sleep

Try as we might, we can't find anything anywhere to do this. The only solutions that we can find are either (a) put up with it, or (b) disable screen blanking altogether. Neither of these options is that desirable for a number of reasons.

Anyone know how to achieve delaying the screen blanking on a global basis for the desired amount of time before the screen then goes blank?
