  • Kickstart from ISO Issue

    Posted on

    Hey there,

Having an issue trying to get an automated Kickstart installation to work (RHEL 7.3), installing to a Dell R330 with a PERC 330 Raid Controller.. I extracted the files from the base iso, put ks.cfg into the top level folder (got this ks.cfg from anaconda-ks.cfg from a fresh installation), and added 'ks=/ks.cfg' to isolinux/isolinux.cfg. I then compiled the folder into an iso using:

    sudo genisoimage -U -r -v -T -J -joliet-long -V "RHEL-7.3" -volset "RHEL-7.3" -A "RHEL-7.3" -b isolinux/isolinux.bin -c isolinux/boot.cat -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -eltorito-alt-boot -e images/efiboot.img -no-emul-boot -o ~/share/rhelauto.iso .

    And then did the md5:

    implantisomd5 ~/share/rhelauto.iso

When I try to boot to the iso, it fails. Here's what I'm pretty sure is the relevant part from journalctl:

    Part 1
    Part 2

    Here's the kickstart file:

    (I also edited grub.cfg in /BOOT/EFI).

Anyone know how to fix this? I should note that for this purpose I do need to install from an ISO.

    Thanks!
