  • Physical host mixing with VMware virtual machine for GFS2

    Posted on

    Hi experts and gurus,

I'm working at one of Red Hat's partner company and my client asked about GFS2 considerations.
My client want to know that whether GFS2 is able to configured 2 physical node with 1 virtual machine on VMware host.
According to RedHat's article(refer to https://access.redhat.com/articles/29440#3_physical_host_mixing), High Availability can be acceptable with even number of physical nodes with virtual machine in certain condition, but I'm not sure in case of GFS2, it also has same limitation with HA.
If my client create cluster of 2 physical nodes with 1 virtual machine for GFS2(no other services won't be created), a virtual machine node should act as a 'tie-breaker' without GFS2 service? or GFS2 can be served on the virtual machine as if physical nodes do?
If client create an above GFS2 cluster, Red Hat support this case?

Thank you for your opinion in advance.
