How easy is it to interface a Arduino/Rasberry Pi Audio device (MIDI) to RHEL-server system?

Hey All (or, anybody besides me ;))!
I was wondering if anyone has tried MIDI-interfacing using RasberryPI/Arduino device and RHEL - server?

Would it be "overkill" if you were to use the SERVER SIDE to "stream-to-network-drive" of the output from said MIDI device?

Has anyone tried this?
