RHEL7 Upgrade Secure LDAP issues

We've just upgraded our server from RHEL5 to RHEL7 and are attempted to set up LDAP authentication again. I have the old configuration files. I've followed multiple guides and procedures attempting to configure openldap but keep running into issues. Is there a set of directions somewhere we're missing that guides us in configuring secure LDAP with existing certificates we already had?
