Smart management

Our company has 40 licensing for smart management. They have been uploaded in satellite server and none of being used right now.
We have about 20 virtual host and 35 content host. We have unlimited licensing under the virtual esx host

1). What are these smart management licensing?

2). Do we need install some software on the red hat server (content host ) or virual esx host to use them?
3). If yes what are these software and how to get it?
4). if no, how do we utilize the 40 smart management license?

5). what are the advantages of these licenses?
6). how to activate the smart management ?
