  • Slow wireless: RHEL7, Dell XPS, Intel 7265

    Posted on

My Dell XPS needs to be next to my wireless router (signal strength poor), event though wireless is fine on other devices.

I yum updated the kernel and picked up recommended drivers from Intel (placed iwlwifi-7265-14.ucode, /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-7265D-14.ucode in /lib/firmware). Modinfo does not reflect -14 drivers after restart.

My interpretation of README.iwlwifi-7265-ucode is that I need to configure the kernel but this is new to me and I am hesitant to mess with the kernel.

    Sincere gratitude for any help.

    Jeff
