Problem installing RHEL7.2 on 64-bit Macbook Pro

When I attempt to install RHEL7.2 from a DVD, the RHEL7.2 doesn't see the partition I've prepared for it, which was done with the OS X Disk Utility. Any suggestions? My attempts with booting from a USB drive haven't been successful either, even with assistance from another utility. Thanks.
