  • RHEL-5, create 70-persistent-net.rules

    Posted on

I have several HP Proliant DL580 G7 servers with RHEL-5.11 OS. None of them has a /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules file.

I installed a new dual-port 10 Gb NIC in one, the ran the HP firmware/driver updates disc so the server could see the new NIC. after reboot, the new NIC is eth5 and eth6, but the OS can no longer use the eth1 and eth2 port. Says the MAC does not match. How do I get back eth1 and eth2?
    Thanks
    Tom
