  • Subscription Manager handshake failure ( sslv3 alert )

    Posted on

For the past two or three days my RHEL6.7 host has been receiving the fairly common message (meaning, others have reported it over the years):

    # Unable to verify server's identity: sslv3 alert handshake failure

I'm running the latest RHEL 6.7 with subscription-manager-1.14.5-1. Among all the other solutions I've found on RHN, I've even backed out of this version and installed 1.14.10-1, thinking it might be a bad patch - NOPE, Still broken.

I've cleaned out all my subscription info and attempted to re-subscribe (both at RHN and on local host), but I can't seem to do any useful subscription functions without receiving the SSLv3 handshake error.

I'm not sure if it's my company's network or something else outside of my RHEL6 box interfering. Any ideas? Is anyone else experiencing issues? I'll check when I get home to see if it's our Intranet.

    I've tried these solutions already:

    https://access.redhat.com/solutions/32709 (just in case)

    Thanks for any ideas.
