  • SAN booted cluster node does not get fenced when all SAN paths are removed

    Posted on

    Hello dear community members,

To test a special situation in a two node active/passive cluster, where we use SAN boot via a Fiber Channel Storage Area Network we did the following.
We broken all paths to the Host Base Adapters by removing the Zoning to the active node.
The server kept running with all file systems read-only.
We are still confused why the server did not get fenced, we saw that the cluster state remained online and the cluster service remained online too.

Does not rgmanager check whether a file system resource becomes read-only?

    Kind regards,

    ir. Jan Gerrit Kootstra
