    Posted on

The Red Hat Satellite Documentation Team has released the second async update to the Satellite 6.1 documentation. This includes updates to the following books:

    • Installation Guide: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Satellite/6.1/html-single/Installation_Guide/index.html
    • User Guide: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Satellite/6.1/html-single/User_Guide/index.html
    • Transition Guide: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Satellite/6.1/html-single/Transition_Guide/index.html
    • API Guide: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Satellite/6.1/html-single/API_Guide/index.html

This asynchronous release addresses various bugs that existed in earlier releases, and also covers some new topics:
    - The Installation Guide includes revised information about using a VMware hypervisor, updates to Capsule options, and SELinux permissions.
    - The User Guide includes updated information about custom fact reporting, decommissioning hosts, and the removal of outdated command information
    - The Transition Guide includes updates to the output of the hammer import command, used during transitioning from Satellite 5 to Satellite 6.
    - The API Guide includes numerous new examples using curl and Python, and a new section covering the required permissions to use various API calls.

Other improvements were also made to enhance readability.

We would like to hear from you if you have any feedback or questions about these or any other Satellite guides.

    Cheers,
    Red Hat Satellite Documentation Team
