Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Virtual Datacenters with ESXi WITHOUT vCenter

Hi,
i would like to know if it is possible to use Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Virtual Datacenters with a Free VMWare ESXi (so, without vcenter)?

I've read documentation (https://access.redhat.com/articles/480693) and it seems that we need to specify a vcenter access in virt-who configuration.
