Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An update for python-requests is now available for Red Hat OpenStack
Platform (RHOSP) 17.1 (Wallaby).
Red Hat Product Security has rated this update as having a security impact
of Moderate. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base score, which
gives a detailed severity rating, is available for each vulnerability from
the CVE link(s) in the References section.
Description
Most existing Python modules for sending HTTP requests are extremely
verbose and cumbersome. Python’s built-in urllib2 module provides most of
the HTTP capabilities you should need, but the API is thoroughly broken.
This library is designed to make HTTP requests easy for developers.
Security Fix(es):
- subsequent requests to the same host ignore cert verification
(CVE-2024-35195)
For more details about the security issue(s), including the impact, a CVSS
