Topic

An update for convert2rhel is now available for supported conversions of CentOS Linux and Oracle Linux 7 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The convert2rhel package provides the Convert2RHEL utility, which performs operating system conversion. During the conversion process, Convert2RHEL replaces all RPM packages from the original Linux distribution with their RHEL version.

Enhancement(s):

  • Don't unregister the system by default (RHELC-1033)
  • Deprecate the --keep-rhsm option (RHELC-1036)
  • Implement a lock file to prevent multiple convert2rhels running at the same time (RHELC-1099)
  • Write a schema for the json return data and use it to integration test the output (RHELC-1107)
  • Update CLI to introduce new subcommands for pre conversion analysis (RHELC-970)
  • Output the pre-assessment report to a json formatted file (RHELC-975)
  • Examine messages logged by Actions and port messages that make sense to be returned from the Action (RHELC-976)
  • Expand pre-conversion report message attributes (RHELC-1094)
  • Allow a pre-conversion report action to report multiple messages (RHELC-1042)
  • Standardize timestamp to ISO format with timezones (RHELC-1000)

Bug Fix(es):

  • Oracle Linux 7: Fix lsmod not being found (RHELC-1056)
