Updated openssl packages that add one enhancement are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Extended Life Cycle Support.

Description

OpenSSL is a toolkit that implements the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and
Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols, as well as a full-strength
general-purpose cryptography library.

This update adds the following enhancement:

• The certificate store has been upgraded to include the changes contained

in version 2.32 of the CA certificate list published by Mozilla.org as part
of NSS 3.44. (BZ#1723004)

Users of openssl are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
add this enhancement. For the update to take effect, all services linked to
the OpenSSL library must be restarted, or the system rebooted.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
