Updated scl-utils packages are now available as a part of Red Hat Software Collections 2.2 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Description

The scl-utils packages provide a runtime utility and RPM packaging macros for packaging Software Collections. Software Collections allow users to concurrently install multiple versions of the same RPM packages on the system. Using the scl utility, users may enable specific versions of RPMs, which are installed into the /opt/ directory.

The scl-utils-build package is now available in the Red Hat Software Collections repository. Installation of components within Red Hat Software Collections which require scl-utils-build (such as rh-python35-python-devel) is now possible on systems which do not enable the Optional channel of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Users of scl-utils are advised to upgrade to these updated packages.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
