An updated lorax package that fixes one bug and adds various enhancements is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

Lorax is a utility for creating Anaconda install images. It also includes livemedia-creator, which is used to create bootable livemedia, including live ISOs and disk images. For installation, it can use libvirtd or Anaconda's image install feature.

This update fixes the following bug:

• Previously, a bond connection configured in a kickstart file was not properly activated by the Anaconda installer if a bond connection slave device was activated earlier during the installation. With this update, the NetworkManger utility has been configured to automatically activate bond connection devices in the installation environment. As a result, if the described scenario occurs, the activated slave devices are properly used by the kickstart installation, which then proceeds as expected. (BZ#1134090)

In addition, this update adds the following enhancements:

• It is now possible to apply Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) content during the installation process. This new installer add-on provides a reliable and easy way to configure a security policy without having to rely on custom scripts. This add-on provides a new Kickstart section ("%addon org_fedora_oscap") as well as a new screen in the graphical user interface during an interactive installation. (BZ#1190685)
• With this update, the livemedia-creator utility supports creating qcow2 images. These images are smaller than raw disk images, and can be used more easily by certain container systems. To create a qcow2 image instead of a raw disk image, add the "--qcow2" option when using livemedia-creator. (BZ#1210413)
• When creating an Anaconda installation image, the lorax utility now also creates a product.img file and an updates.img file. The product image contains the files in the /usr/share/lorax/product/ directory, and can be used to customize the look and behavior of the installer. The updates image contains the files from the /usr/share/lorax/updates/ directory, and can be used to automatically apply updates to the installer. Both product.img and updates.img are placed in the boot.iso image. (BZ# 1244330)
• With this update, the Anaconda image created by Lorax contains the bridge-utils packages, which allow dracut's bridge command to be supported during the installation process. As a result, the brctl utility is now available during the installation, and using bridge command-line options in the Pre-Boot Execution environment (PXE) works as expected. (BZ#1188812)
• Support for creating OSTree live images has been added to Lorax. To create an OSTree live image, add the "make-ostree-live" option when using the livemedia-creator utility. (BZ#1184021)
• This update includes the Microsoft PV drivers, which allows for easier installation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux as a guest on the HyperV hypervisor. (BZ#834791)

Users of lorax are advised to upgrade to these updated package, which fixes this bug and add these enhancements.

Solution
