Topic

Red Hat Gluster Storage Console 3.1 packages such as rhsc-setup-plugins, rhsc-monitoring-uiplugin, org.ovirt.engine-root, ovirt-host-deploy, otopi,
vdsm-jsonrpc-java, rhsc-branding-rhs, rcue, rhsc-log-collector nagios-server-addons, pnp4nagios that adds enhancements and fix multiple bugs are now available for use with Red Hat Gluster Storage Console 3.1.

Description

Red Hat Gluster Storage Console is a powerful and simple web based
Graphical User Interface for managing a Red Hat Gluster Storage 3.1
environment. It helps Storage Administrators to easily create and manage multiple trusted storage pools. This includes features like
elastically expanding and shrinking a pool, creating and managing volumes.

This advisory includes the following new features of Red Hat Gluster
Storage Console

  • Dashboard

Dashboard displays an overview of all the entities in Red Hat Gluster Storage like Hosts, Volumes, Bricks, and Clusters. The Dashboard shows a consolidated view of the system and helps the administrator to know the status of the system.

  • Snapshot Management

Through Red Hat Gluster Storage Console, you can create, delete, activate, deactivate and restore given snapshots, apart from seeing the list of snapshots and their status. You can also, schedule snapshots to be taken at specific time or at scheduled intervals.

  • Disk Provisioning

The list of storage devices can be viewed through Red Hat Gluster Storage Console and provisioned through the Console using Disk Provisioning feature.

  • Logical Network Management (Network Traffic Segregation)

You can create a logical network for Gluster Storage communication to optimize network traffic between hosts and Gluster Storage bricks. Logical Network Management provides facility to segregate management traffic from data-plane traffic.

  • Geo-replication Management and Monitoring

Geo-replication provides a distributed, continuous, asynchronous, and incremental replication service from one site to another over Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and the Internet. You can perform Geo-replication operations and also manage source and destination volumes through Red Hat Gluster Storage Console.

This update also fixes several bugs. Space precludes documenting all of
these changes in this advisory. Users are directed to the Red Hat
Gluster Storage 3.1 Technical Notes, linked to in the References section,
for information on the most significant of these changes.

Users of Red Hat Gluster Storage Console are advised to upgrade to
these updated packages, which fix these bugs and add these enhancements.
