Topic

Updated fcoe-utils packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements
are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The fcoe-utils packages provide Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) utilities,
such as the fcoeadm command-line utility for configuring FCoE interfaces, and
the fcoemon service to configure DCB Ethernet QOS filters.

The fcoe-utils packages have been upgraded to upstream version 1.0.29, which
provides a number of bug fixes and enhancements over the previous version. For
example, improvements in the fcoemon service for adapters that support Data
Center Bridging Exchange (DCBX) IEEE mode, support for reporting higher speed
links correctly, and manual page improvements. (BZ#1087095)

This update also fixes the following bug:

• Previously, the Fibre Channel over Ethernet Administration tool (fcoeadm) did

not send correct requests to the fcoemon service daemon when creating virtual
ports in "Virtual Node to Virtual Node" (VN2VN) mode. Consequently, a "fabric
mode" interface was created instead of a "VN2VN mode" interface for establishing
a connection. With this update, fcoeadm has been fixed to pass the correct
command to fcoemon, and the "VN2VN mode" interface is created as expected.

Users of fcoe-utils are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix
these bugs and add these enhancements.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
