OpenStack Image Service packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform
5.0 (Icehouse) for RHEL 6 are now available.

Description

Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for building
a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud running on commonly
available physical hardware. This advisory includes packages for:

  • OpenStack Image Service ("Glance").
  • OpenStack Image Service client ("python-glanceclient").

OpenStack Image service (Glance) provides discovery, registration, and delivery
services for disk and server images. It provides the ability to copy or snapshot
a server image, and immediately store it away. Stored images can be used as a
template to get new servers up and running quickly and more consistently than
installing a server operating system and individually configuring additional
services.

These packages update the OpenStack Image Service to version 2014.1.1

Solution

Before applying this update, ensure all previously released errata relevant to
your system have been applied.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5 for RHEL 6 runs on Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 6.5.
