Topic

Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise 1.2 is now available which fixes several bugs and
introduces feature enhancements.

Description

OpenShift Enterprise is a cloud computing Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution
from Red Hat, and is designed for on-premise or private cloud deployments.

The OpenShift Enterprise 1.2 Release Notes provide information about changes in
this release, and instructions on how to upgrade from previous OpenShift
Enterprise releases. Visit https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/docs/ to access
all OpenShift Enterprise documentation.

This update also fixes the following bugs:

  • Previously the Management Console used its own rules to determine which

cartridges were compatible, which were out of date and inconsistent with rules
used by the Client Tools and the REST API. Therefore, users were unable to embed
two different cartridges using the Management Console. This issue has been fixed
and multiple database cartridges can now be embedded. (BZ#896433)

  • For scaled applications with a database cartridge, the database cartridge is

brought up on a secondary gear. The "rhc port-forward" command only forwarded
ports from the primary gear. As a result, "rhc port-forward" would not include
the database port on scaled applications. This made it difficult to reach the
database for testing. With this release, the REST API and the client tools have
been updated to correct the issue and ports from the secondary gear are now
forwarded as expected. (BZ#917502)

  • The SELinux policy denied certain access when creating gears. AVC denials were

seen in the node host's audit.log, though there was no apparent impairment of
functionality. This issue has been fixed in a new selinux-policy RPM available
for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, which when installed stops the AVC
denials.(BZ#966876)

Users are advised to upgrade to Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise 1.2.
