Topic

Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise 1.2 is now available which fixes several bugs
and introduces feature enhancements.

Description

OpenShift Enterprise is a cloud computing Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
solution from Red Hat, and is designed for on-premise or private cloud
deployments.

The OpenShift Enterprise 1.2 Release Notes provide information about changes in
this release, and instructions on how to upgrade from previous OpenShift
Enterprise releases. Visit https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/docs/ to access
all OpenShift Enterprise documentation.

This update also fixes the following bugs:

  • The JBoss Tools client implemented a health check that tested the /health URL

on new JBoss applications. However, sometimes the application was not started by
the time the gear creation was complete. This caused the /health URL to return a
404 error code during the health check, and creating an application with JBoss
Tools failed frequently. This issue has been fixed with the health check logic
being updated to only check for a listening socket, and creating JBoss
applications with the JBoss Tools client no longer fails. (BZ#895507)

  • JGroups, the clustering mechanism used with JBoss, had a restriction that kept

it from connecting properly via ports on the gear IP to gears on other nodes.
Session replication was therefore broken in scaled JBoss applications if the
gears were on different nodes. The user HTTP sessions could be lost if a gear
was scaled down or if it crashed. This issue has been fixed in an updated
JGroups JAR that is included in the JBoss 6.1 update. Clustering and session
replication now work correctly for scaled JBoss applications. (BZ#903457)

Users are advised to upgrade to Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise 1.2.
