Topic

An updated cpuspeed package that adds an enhancement and fixes a bug is now
available.

Description

The cpuspeed package provides processor frequency scaling support.

  • Upcoming Itanium-based systems support demand-based processor frequency

scaling. This updated package enables processor frequency scaling by
default on supported Itanium systems.

  • Certain conditions could result in the cpuspeed init script's status

command not returning any data. This updated package takes these conditions
into account and handles them correctly.

All users should upgrade to this updated package, which features the above
enhancement and bug fix.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
