Synopsis
frysk enhancement update
Type/Severity
Product Enhancement Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated, technology preview version of Frysk is now available.
Description
Frysk is an execution-analysis technology implemented using native Java and
C++. It is aimed at providing developers and system administrators with the
ability to examine and analyze multi-host, multi-process, and
multi-threaded systems while they are running.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1 includes an updated version of Frysk. Users
are encouraged to find more information and provide feedback at the Frysk
project web site: http://sourceware.org/frysk/.
Bugs fixed in this update include:
- the non-main task's exited waitpid status got lost when tracing.
- the 64-bit fstack could not backtrace a 32-bit process.
- Test Runner did not recognize command-line parameters that switched off
named JUnit tests.
NB: This update includes preview technology: the Frysk APIs, the Frysk
GNOME interface, and all developer components are subject to change.
A fully supported release of Frysk is planned for future releases of Red
Hat Enterprise Linux.
