Topic

An enhanced device-mapper-multipath package is now available.

Description

The device-mapper-multipath packages provide tools to manage multipath
devices by instructing the device-mapper multipath kernel module what to
do.

Enhancements included in this update are:

  • Support for multipath on cciss devices.
  • Implicit support for EMC CLARiiON arrays with ALUA functionality.
  • Support for multipath on RDAC storage (e.g. IBM DS4000, DELL MD3000).

Bugs fixed in this update include:

  • multipath -ll was hanging when run on a quiesced pav enabled dasd.
  • multipath could silently fail while scanning the paths.
  • multipath could not use user-friendly-names if the bindings file was on a

read-only filesystem.

  • the multipathd init script occasionally returned a nonstandard error

code.

  • multipath did not provide static binaries for use in the initramfs.
  • multipath did not correctly create multipath devices onIBM SAN Volume

Controllers. (vendor=IBM, product=2145)

All users are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve
these issues and add these enhancements.
