Topic

An update for rear is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

Relax-and-Recover is a recovery and system migration utility. The utility
produces a bootable image and restores from backup using this image. It
allows to restore to different hardware and can therefore be also used as a
migration utility.

Bug Fix(es) and Enhancement(s):

  • In case of NETFS_KEEP_OLD_BACKUP_COPY=1 and a failure happens during the

backup, the old backup is removed also (BZ#1843585)

  • Restore: rear doesn't create the EFI entry when software raid is used

(BZ#1945869)

  • The use of rsync with a user different than root will not restore links

during the recovery (BZ#1947064)

  • PPC64: grub2-install doesn't execute properly, making the recovered

system unbootable (BZ#1983000)

  • PPC64: required "bootlist" executable may be missing, preventing system

from being recovered (BZ#1983008)

  • release version with https://github.com/rear/rear/pull/2544 included

(BZ#2031833)
