Updated host packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements are now available.

Description

The ovirt-host package consolidates host package requirements into a single meta package.

Changes to the ovirt-host component:

• The Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) cinderlib repository has been upgraded from RHOSP 16.1 to 16.2. (BZ#2004913)
• Previously, manual installation of the rsyslog-openssl package was required to setup remote encrypted logging. In the current release, the rsyslog-openssl package is installed by default on both the oVirt Node and RHV-H. (BZ#1984886)
• Previously, users were required to manually install Cinderlib and Ceph dependencies, such as, python3-cinderlb or python3-os-brick on each host. In the current release, these dependencies are automatically installed and provided within RHV-H. Please note that for standard RHEL hosts, this feature requires the proper subscription to be enabled. (BZ#2009659)

Changes to the ovirt-hosted-engine-ha component:

• The ovirt-hosted-engine-ha package has been rebased to version: 2.4.9. This update fixes the issue of incorrect CPU load scores causing the engine virtual machine to shut down. (BZ#2002945)

Changes to the ovirt-hosted-engine-setup component:

• In Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.5, the socat package has been updated introducing a change in the command line syntax.

In the current release, the hosted-engine command has been updated to adapt to this change. (BZ#1980230)

Changes to the sanlock component:

• In the current release, the sanlock_io timeout is configurable. Before configuring sanlock_io timeout, it is recommended that you contact Red Hat support. Please refer to https://access.redhat.com/solutions/6338821. Red Hat is not responsible for testing different timeout values other than the defaults. Red Hat support will only provide guidance on how to change those values consistently across the RHV setup. (BZ#1845909)

Changes to the vdsm component:

• Previously, an issue with lldpad required a workaround on RHEL 7. The RHEL 8.5 release provides an update of llpad to version 1.0.1-16 which resolves the issue. (BZ#1939262)
• Previously, VDSM reported partial results to the engine which resulted in a failure to import the storage domain using new LUNs. This happened because VDSM would not wait for the creation of new multipath devices after the discovery of new LUNs. The current release fixes this issue and VDSM waits for multipathd reports to be ready and the storage domain is now detected. (BZ#2000720)
• Previously, virtual machines failed to restore when running hibernation on block based storage. In the current release, the data is written as raw data allowing the virtual machine restore to succeed. (BZ#1978672)

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
