An update for java-11-openjdk is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0 Update Services for SAP Solutions.

Description

The java-11-openjdk packages provide the OpenJDK 11 Java Runtime Environment and the OpenJDK 11 Java Software Development Kit.

Bug Fix(es) and Enhancement(s):

• The previous OpenJDK 11 release, 11.0.9, was found to contain a regression introduced by one of the security fixes. It caused the virtual machine to crash when a null value was encountered. With this update, the null value is checked for and the crash does not occur. (BZ#1895754)
• The java-11-openjdk package stores most of its files in a /usr/lib/jvm subdirectory, which is unique to each release of the package, but license files for the documentation files are stored in /usr/share/licenses/java-11-openjdk-javadoc, where they are shared by all versions of the package. After the last update was released, it was discovered that changes to these license files make this problematic. With this update, they are now stored in the /usr/lib/jvm subdirectory unique to each package version. (BZ#1889709)
