Updated OpenStack Networking packages that resolve various issues are now
available for Red Hat OpenStack Platform 16.0 (Train) for RHEL 8.

Description

Red Hat OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for building, deploying
and monitoring a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud
running on commonly available physical hardware. This advisory includes
packages for:

Changes to the python-networking-ovn component:

• In Red Hat OpenStack 16.0, there is a known issue where the command `openstack network agent list` intermittently indicates that the OVN agents are down, when the agents are actually alive and the cloud is operational.

The affected agents are: OVN Controller agent, OVN Metadata agent, and OVN Controller Gateway agent.

There is currently no workaround for this issue. Ignore the output of the "openstack network agent list" command. (BZ#1793440)

• There is a known issue for OpenStack Networking (neutron) where all instances created inherit the dns_domain value associated with the network, and not the dns_domain value configured for an internal DNS.

The cause of this issue is that the network dns_domain attribute overrides the neutron dns_domain config option.

To avoid this issue, do not set the dns_domain attribute for the network if you want to use the internal DNS feature. (BZ#1795165)

• There is a known issue where migrations from ML2/OVS to OVN fail. The failure is caused by the new protective mechanism in Red Hat OpenStack Platform director to prevent upgrades while changing mechanism drivers.

Before applying this update, ensure all previously released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.

Red Hat OpenStack Platform 16 runs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.1.
