RHBA-2019:1732 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
openstack-cinder bug fix advisory
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Lightspeed patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated OpenStack Block Storage packages that resolve various issues are
now available for Red Hat OpenStack Platform 13.0 (Queens) for RHEL 7.
Description
Red Hat OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for building, deploying
and monitoring a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud
running on commonly available physical hardware. This advisory includes
packages for:
- OpenStack Block Storage service
OpenStack Block Storage (cinder) manages block storage mounting and the
presentation of such mounted block storage to instances. The back-end
physical storage can consist of local disks, Fiber Channel, iSCSI, and/or
NFS mounts attached to Compute nodes. In addition, Block Storage supports
volume backups, and snapshots for temporary save and restore operations.
Programmatic management is available through the Block Storage service's
API.
Changes to the openstack-cinder component:
- With this Technology Preview update, you can attach a single volume to multiple hosts with the multi-attach feature. RADOS block device (RBD) is not available and there are other cinder feature restrictions. (BZ#1624971)
- Previously, you were unable to delete or recover the backup file when upgrading from Red Hat OpenStack Platform 12 to Red Hat OpenStack Platform 13 because of mismatched driver versions.
With this update, the backup manager accepts different driver versions and configurations. (BZ#1688098)
- Previously, you could not attach a volume when the provided discovery IP was inaccessible from the host if NetApp iSCSI drivers used discovery mode for multipathing.
With this update, the drivers return target_iqns, target_portals, and target_luns parameters correctly. (BZ#1697996)
- This update enables multi-attach capability for hpe3par driver. (BZ#1708705)
- Previously, if you deleted a volume through the SolidFire-API/GUI interface and then with cinder, you could inadvertently delete a different volume.
With this update, the driver and backend verify the volume ID to prevent accidental deletion. (BZ#1668514)
- Previously, the Kaminario cinder volume drivers failed a tempest test because the terminate_connection did not support `connector=None`.
(test_volumes_actions.VolumesActionsTest.test_force_detach_volume)
With this update, the Kaminario cinder volume drivers can support `connector=None` in the terminate_connection. (BZ#1714433)
Solution
Before applying this update, ensure all previously released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.
Red Hat OpenStack Platform 13 runs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.6.
The Red Hat OpenStack Platform 13 Release Notes contain the following:
- An explanation of the way in which the provided components interact to
form a working cloud computing environment.
- Technology Previews, Recommended Practices, and Known Issues.
- The channels required for Red Hat OpenStack Platform 13, including which
channels need to be enabled and disabled.
