Updated satellite-schema, spacewalk-backend, spacewalk-java, and spacewalk-schema packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements are now available for Red Hat Satellite 5.8.0.

Description

Red Hat Satellite provides a solution to organizations requiring absolute control over and privacy of the maintenance and package deployment of their servers. It allows organizations to utilize the benefits of Red Hat Network (RHN) without having to provide public Internet access to their servers or other client systems. Red Hat Satellite 5.8.0 can be upgraded to from earlier releases.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Unable to provision a RHEL 8 virtual machine with an activation key attached to the kickstart profile. (BZ#1647122)
• OpenSCAP scan history results pointed to non-existent or incorrect results for the scan. (BZ#1688743)
• Satellite imported only the first collection from a modular erratum. (BZ#1692383)
• Satellite threw an ISE when trying to clone a channel if the organization did not have software entitlements to the parent channel. (BZ#1678857)
• The insights-client package was not detected as installed on a system registered to Satellite 5.8. (BZ#1686046)
• RHEL8 systems were unable to install the insights-client package. (BZ#1690490)
• The cdn-sync failed on traceback when a previously synced comps file had been deleted from the local disk. (BZ#1665387)
• A bug in the modules.yaml files sync that updated modules.yaml was being overwritten with an older version of the file, preventing the client from seeing module updates. (BZ#1715387)

Solution

Application of this errata involves updating the database schema.

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata relevant to your system have been applied. To apply this erratum, take the following steps:

• Shut down Red Hat Satellite by running the following command as root:

rhn-satellite stop

• Upgrade the errata packages. Details on how to apply this update are available at https://access.redhat.com/site/articles/11258
• Start Red Hat Satellite by running the following as root:

rhn-satellite start

• BZ - 1678857 - Satellite throws an ISE when trying to clone a channel if the org does not have software entitlements to the parent channel
• BZ - 1686046 - insights-client package not detected as installed on a system registered to Satellite 5.8
• BZ - 1688743 - OpenSCAP scan history item point to non-existent/wrong detailed result for the scan
• BZ - 1690490 - Can't check a RHEL8 system for insights client installation
• BZ - 1692383 - Satellite imports only first collection from a modular erratum
• BZ - 1715387 - old modules.yaml overwrites updated modules.yaml from main package repo => clients do not see some (?) updates
