Updated rsync package that fixes one bug is now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The rsync utility enables the users to copy and synchronize files locally oracross a network. Synchronization with rsync is fast because rsync only sends the differences in files over the network instead of sending whole files. The rsync utility is also used as a mirroring tool.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • When using rsync with the combination of options -L and --remove-source-files, rsync should copy files pointed to by a symlink and then remove the symlink from the source system. In version 3.1.2, this was unintentionally changed and the symlinks would stay in the source system. This update fixes the issue and rsync now behaves in the same way as in the previous versions. (BZ#1693108)

Users of rsync are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.
