Updated satellite-schema, spacewalk-backend, and spacewalk-schema packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements are now available for Red Hat Satellite 5.8.0.

Description

Red Hat Satellite provides a solution to organizations requiring absolute control over and privacy of the maintenance and package deployment of their servers. It allows organizations to utilize the benefits of Red Hat Network (RHN) without having to provide public Internet access to their servers or other client systems. Red Hat Satellite 5.8.0 can be upgraded to from earlier releases.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Spacewalk-debug tool unnecessarily collected content of the /root/ssl-build directory that might contain private data. (BZ#1671466)
• Satellite 5.8 clients were failing to register to Insights through the HTTP proxy server. (BZ#1667999)
• Virtual guests running on Red Hat Virtualization 4.x had not been recognized as virtual systems that were consuming physical host entitlements. (BZ#1651354)
• Registration of two systems with the same IP address caused an error in the web user interface. (BZ#1661434)
• Fixed the issue where uploading the results of an OpenSCAP scan with long-rule identifiers caused an error in the web user interface. (BZ#1646942)

Solution

Application of this errata involves updating the database schema.

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata relevant to your system have been applied. To apply this erratum, take the following steps:

• Shut down Red Hat Satellite by running the following command as root:

rhn-satellite stop

• Upgrade the errata packages. Details on how to apply this update are available at https://access.redhat.com/site/articles/11258
• Start Red Hat Satellite by running the following as root:

rhn-satellite start
