Topic

Updated packages that resolve various issues are now available for Red Hat
OpenStack Platform 13.0 (Queens) for RHEL 7.

Description

Red Hat OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for building, deploying
and monitoring a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud
running on commonly available physical hardware.

Changes to the openvswitch component:

  • Previously, a an issue with ovs-vswitchd handling Geneve tunnels, a cascade effect occurred in certain circumstances. As a result, ovs-vswitchd could crash, raising the memory footprint of OVS/OVN processes.

With this update, the issue is resolved and ovs-vswitchd no longer crashes. (BZ#1670794)

  • Previously, the python-openvswitch library did not de-allocate objects used when communicating with the openvswitch process, causing a memory leak in neutron agents. As a result, Neutron agent memory size increased continuously until reaching a state of memory starvation and the kernel out-of-memory-killer started terminating processes.

With this update, the python-openvswitch library de-allocates memory correctly and the memory consumption for neutron agent processes is stable. (BZ#1678197)

Solution

Before applying this update, ensure all previously released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.

Red Hat OpenStack Platform 13 runs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.6.

form a working cloud computing environment.

  • Technology Previews, Recommended Practices, and Known Issues.
  • The channels required for Red Hat OpenStack Platform 13, including which
