Updated qemu-kvm packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) is a full virtualization solution for Linux on a variety of architectures. The qemu-kvm packages provide the user-space component for running virtual machines that use KVM.

This update fixes the following bug:

• Previously, installing a virtual machine (VM) using the 'mode="host-model"' option caused the "arch-facilities" feature to be unintentionally enabled for the VM. As a consequence, migrating the VM in some cases failed. With this update, using 'mode="host-model"' instead enables the fully supported "arch-capabilities" feature, which fixes the problem. Users of qemu-kvm are advised to upgrade to these updated packages. After installing this update, shut down all running virtual machines. Once all virtual machines have shut down, start them again for this update to take effect.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
