Topic

Updated nvme-cli packages that fix several bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The nvme-cli packages provide the Non-volatile Memory Express (NVMe) command-line interface to manage and configure NVMe controllers.

This update fixes the following bugs:

  • If identification failed on one device, Non-volatile Memory Express (NVMe) command-line interface (nvme_cli) stopped identifying the remaining devices on systems with multiple target nodes. Consequently, the output of nvme_cli was empty. With this update, nvme_cli has been fixed to continue checking the identity of other devices when one of the devices is rebooted. As a result, nvme_cli output now includes information about remaining devices under the described circumstances. (BZ#1650465)
  • Previously, the "nvme discover" command retrieved log pages from a discovery controller in a single I/O cycle. Consequently, the command failed if discovery log pages exceeded 64 kB. With this update, the Non-volatile Memory Express (NVMe) command-line interface (nvme-cli) has been fixed to retrieve log pages in 4-kB chunks. As a result, "nvme discover" now returns log pages exceeding the 64 kB threshold properly. (BZ#1658070)

Users of nvme-cli are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.
