Updated cloud-init packages that fix several bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The cloud-init packages provide a set of init scripts for cloud instances. Cloud instances need special scripts to run during initialization to retrieve and install SSH keys, and to let the user run various scripts.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• With this update of the cloud-init package, the system's network interface is restarted when the system host name is obtained from the metadata OVF file. As a result, host name propagates as expected on Azure clouds. (BZ#1568717)
• Previously, the cloud-init package disabled the IPv6 protocol. As a consequence, deployments using cloud-init on some Amazon EC2 instances have not functioned properly. The IPv6 protocol has been re-enabled in cloud-init and the problem no longer occurs. (BZ#1578702)

Users of cloud-init are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
