Updated gnome-shell and gnome-themes-standard packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4 Extended Update Support.

Description

GNOME Shell acts as a compositing manager for the desktop, and displays both application windows and other objects. It provides core interface functions like switching windows, launching applications, and notifications. It takes advantage of the capabilities of modern graphics hardware and introduces innovative user interface concepts.

The gnome-themes-standard packages contain the standard theme for the GNOME
desktop, which provides default appearance for cursors, desktop background,
window borders, and GTK+ applications.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Due to a regression in gnome-shell, the system-config-date utility could not be started from the Gnome Desktop GUI. With this update, the problem is fixed and system-config-date can be started from Gnome Desktop again. (BZ#1559046)
• When using a GTK2 application with the Adwaita theme and defining a custom background for a GtkTreeView widget, the custom background color was not set and a white background was displayed. With this update, the background defined in the application is used as expected. (BZ#1559953)

Users of gnome-shell and gnome-themes-standard are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.
