Updated director installer packages that resolve various issues are now
available for Red Hat OpenStack Platform 12.0 (Pike) for RHEL 7.

Description

Red Hat OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for building, deploying
and monitoring a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud
running on commonly available physical hardware.

Changes to the openstack-tripleo-common component:

• Due to the migration from puppet-ceph to ceph-ansible for the management of Ceph using Director, old puppet hieradata (such as ceph::profile::params::osds) needs to be migrated to the ceph-ansible format.

Customizations for the Ceph deployment previously passed as hieradata from *ExtraConfig should be removed since they are ignored. Specifically, the deployment will stop if ceph::profile::params::osds is found to ensure the devices list has been migrated to the format expected by ceph-ansible.

Use the CephAnsibleExtraConfig and CephAnsibleDisksConfig parameters to pass arbitrary variables to ceph-ansible, such devices and dedicated_devices. (BZ#1488855)

Changes to the puppet-cinder component:

• Cinder's image_volume_cache_enabled setting was not enabled when using the Veritas Hyperscale backend. As such, the volume images were not being cached.

Set image_volume_cache_enabled True when enabling the Veritas Hyperscale backend to cache these volumes. (BZ#1524272)

Changes to the puppet-tripleo component:

• The Puppet code that creates the cinder-volume and cinder-backup pacemaker bundles was creating two different Puppet resources using the same resource name. Puppet doesn't allow duplicate resource names, and this caused an error when trying to create the cinder-backup bundle. This caused the cinder-backup service to not work because the service was never started.

The Puppet code was updated to assign unique names for all of the cinder-volume and cinder-backup Puppet resources. Now the cinder-backup pacemaker bundle is created, which in turn allows the cinder-backup service to work. (BZ#1539858)

Changes to the python-os-brick component:

• The FC scanning mechanism tries to limit the scanning range, but incorrectly uses local WWNN instead of target's WWPN. The filtering is not as narrow as expected.

Using the target's WWPNs taking into account FC Zone/Access control information if present appropriately narrows the scanning. (BZ#1498422)

Solution

Before applying this update, ensure all previously released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.
