Topic

Updated redhat-virtualization-host packages are now available.

Description

The ovirt-node-ng packages provide the Red Hat Virtualization Host. These packages include redhat-release-virtualization-host, ovirt-node, and rhev-hypervisor. Red Hat Virtualization Hosts are installed using a special build of Red Hat Enterprise Linux with only the packages required to host virtual machines. Red Hat Virtualization Host features a Cockpit user interface for monitoring the host's resources and performing administrative tasks.

Changes to the ovirt-node-ng component:

  • Previously, Red Hat Virtualization Hypervisor did not warn users if a local storage domain was placed on the same file system as / (root). As a result, local storage domains on the same file system as / were not migrated when the Hypervisor was updated, leading to a potential loss of local virtual machines.

In this release, the Hypervisor now fails to upgrade if storage domains are located on the same file system as /, and a message appears instructing the user how to resolved the issue and local storage domains on / are no longer at risk. (BZ#1554751)

Changes to the redhat-release-rhev-hypervisor component:

  • Previously, when adding a new host, ovirt-host-deploy failed because the active profile was not set by tuned.service.

In this release, tuned.service will be enabled by default, enabling ovirt-host-deploy to complete successfully when adding a new host. (BZ#1553258)
