Topic

Updated packages that resolve various issues are now available for Red Hat
OpenStack Platform 10.0 (Newton) for RHEL 7.

Description

Red Hat OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for building, deploying
and monitoring a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud
running on commonly available physical hardware.

This update addresses the following issues:

• Previously, in certain cases, usernames containing only numbers would be incorrectly parsed. Consequently, if using keystone v3, the `openstack user show` command would fail to handle these usernames. With this update, the scenario is correctly handled, and `openstack user show` now works in keystone v3 when using numeric usernames. (BZ#1501283)
• Previously, the codebase in puppet-sensu was outdated and incompatible with the upgrade process. This resulted in an attempt to install a third-party package during the upgrade process, after which the upgrade process would fail. This update addresses the issue by backporting the most recent fix from the puppet-sensu upstream. As a result, upgrades do not fail because of the sensu-client. (BZ#1498457)
• Prior to this update, the algorithm checking the interface state on baremetal nodes did not have a proper retry mechanism. Consequently, under certain conditions when the link was alternating up and down, the interfaces on the baremetal nodes did not come up correctly and failed to get an IP address from DHCP. The following error could be found in the logs - 'Invalid Argument'. With this update, the retry mechanism was changed to ensure interfaces are brought up correctly. As a result, the interfaces are up and receive an IP address from DHCP. (BZ#1494132)
• Prior to this update, certain HPE hardware would not process power requests when another task was running on the BMC. Consequently, deployment or introspection could fail, as the node would never power on. With this update, the `proliantutils` library now retries power actions multiple times, until the target power state is reached. As a result, power actions work correctly even if another task is temporarily blocking the BMC. (BZ#1460915)

Solution

Before applying this update, ensure all previously released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.
