Updated director installer packages that resolve various issues are now
available for Red Hat OpenStack Platform 10.0 (Newton) for RHEL 7.

Description

Red Hat OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for building, deploying
and monitoring a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud
running on commonly available physical hardware.

This update includes the following changes:

• This update increases the default value of `fs.inotify.max_user_instances` to 1024. This update also allows you to manage the value through a heat template, using `InotifyIntancesMax`. (BZ#1508030)
• Previously, Ceilometer would not set the hostname in its configuration file, and used the default detected one. Consequently, in certain cases, Nova would override the default detected hostname with a custom hostname which would not match the Ceilometer auto-detected one. This would leave Ceilometer unable to poll for Nova instances statistics. With this update, Ceilometer now sets the same hostname that Nova sets. As a result, Ceilometer is now able to poll Nova instances correctly. (BZ#1515969)
• Previously, `/usr/libexec/os-refresh-config/configure.d/51-hosts` contained a syntax error in a call to the `tr` command. Consequently, if the files /{a,b} exist on one of the overcloud nodes, then an 'openstack overcloud deploy' command will fail on that node with the error:

Try 'tr --help' for more information.

To address this, the missing quotes were added to the "tr" command. As a result, the 'openstack overcloud deploy' command will no longer error in this scenario. (BZ#1427879)

• Prior to this update, a missing puppet relationship could have caused puppet to create a mysql user before the database was fully up. Consequently, deployment would fail with the following error: `Error: Could not prefetch mysql_user provider 'mysql'`. This update adds a proper puppet relationship so that users are only created when the database is fully up. (BZ#1425207)

Solution

Before applying this update, ensure all previously released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.
