Topic

Updated gdeploy package that fixes various bugs is available for Red Hat Gluster Storage 3.3 Update 1 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

gdeploy is a tool which automates the process of creating, formatting,
and mounting bricks. When setting up a fresh cluster, gdeploy could be the
preferred choice of cluster set up, as manually executing numerous commands
can be error-prone. The advantages of using gdeploy includes automated
brick creation, flexibility in choosing the drives to configure (sd, vd,
etc.), and flexibility in naming the logical volumes (LV) and volume groups
(VG).

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Previously, the permission bits on the glusterfs.ca certificate file was restricted only to the owner to read the certificate. As a result, virtual machines did not start using libgfapi as the self-signed certificates were generated using gdeploy. With this fix, the permissions of glusterfs.ca file must be changed to 644 before setting up SSL using the following command: chmod 644 /etc/ssl/glusterfs.ca. With the change in permissions, the virtual machines start as expected. (BZ#1482987)

Users of gdeploy with Red Hat Gluster Storage are advised to upgrade to
this updated package, which fixes this bug.
