Topic
An updated sos package that fixes two bugs is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
Description
The sos package contains a set of utilities that gather information from system hardware, logs, and configuration files. The information can then be used for diagnostic purposes and debugging.
This update fixes the following bugs:
- Previously, the pacemaker plug-in of the sosreport tool did not sanitize the "pcs config" command. As a consequence, the output of the command in the sos_commands/cluster/pcs_config file contained readable passwords extracted from fencing devices. With this update, the pacemaker plugin hides the "passwd" and "incoming_password" attributes in the output, and the described problem no longer occurs. (BZ#1504695)
- Previously, sosreport commands loaded the nf_conntrack kernel module on the system, which activated the "net.nf_conntrack_max" packet limit. Consequently, uploading the sosreport data sometimes failed with the "kernel: nf_conntrack: table full, dropping packet" error message. With this update, the pattern to identify loaded modules has been improved, and the described problem no longer occurs. (BZ#1504698)
Users of sos are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which fixes these bugs.
