An updated rhn-upgrade package that fixes several bugs in the upgrade path to Red Hat Satellite 5.8 is now available.

Description

Red Hat Satellite is a system management tool for Linux-based infrastructures. It allows for the provisioning, remote management and monitoring of multiple Linux deployments with a single, centralized tool.

The rhn-upgrade package contains the documentation needed to upgrade Red Hat Satellite.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• In Satellite 5.8, monitoring was removed, but after upgrading the Satellite Server the packages were still present. With this update, the rhn-upgrade script now includes the capability to remove the unused packages. (BZ#1461096)
• Some 5.7 entitlement data was not removed and this sometimes caused a null pointer exception error. Satellite displayed "Internal Server Error" when trying to access the Properties page for a system. The code has been improved and the error no longer occurs. (BZ#1479337)
• With 5.8, cdn-sync is the tool used to synchronize content. Previous versions used satellite-sync. With this update, the last step in verification is a reminder to update any cron job used for periodic content-synchronization to use cdn-sync instead of satellite-sync. (BZ#1465105)

All Users of Red Hat Satellite are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which fixes these bugs.

relevant to your system have been applied.
