Updated dhcp packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a protocol that allows individual devices on an IP network to get their own network configuration information, including an IP address, a subnet mask, and a broadcast address.
The dhcp packages provide a relay agent and ISC DHCP service required to enable and administer DHCP on a network.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Previously, communications were interrupted when both primary and secondary servers were in the POTENTIAL-CONFLICT state. As a consequence, the servers were not able to serve client requests. This update improves the handling of the bind update process. As a result, the conflicts are resolved and both servers work as expected. (BZ#1480181)

Users of dhcp are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.
